Itinerary
Giorno 1 — Adelaide → Kangaroo Island
On the first day, around 06:45, you will be picked up from your hotel for a scenic bus transfer to Cape Jervis, to admire the picturesque Fleurieu Peninsula with its vineyards, coastal views, and gentle hills. I arrive at Penneshaw pier at 09:45. Hop on board the SeaLink bus and your local driver/guide will take you on a tour of South Australia's main natural tourist destination. Visit the Seal Bay Conservation Park, where you will take a guided walk on the beach with an expert guide and be in the midst of a colony of rare Australian sea lions. Get up close and see these wild creatures as they frolic and laze about - a truly extraordinary and unforgettable experience. After visiting the Seal Bay Conservation Park, you can enjoy a delicious two-course lunch. Spend the afternoon in Flinders Chase National Park. As you traverse the park, keep an eye out for echidnas, wallabies, reptiles, and koalas. Admire the rugged coastline during walks around Remarkable Rocks and Admirals Arch. The Remarkable Rocks offer great photo opportunities, while the Admirals Arch boardwalk takes you down a rugged cliff face to reveal the spectacular rock arch, a natural nursery, and a safe haven for playful long-nosed fur seals. The last visit of the day is to the Kangaroo Island Wildlife Park to feed kangaroos and get up close to Kangaroo Island's koalas while listening to the keeper talk about these adorable mammals. There is also a chance to see other kangaroos and wallabies during the return journey. Hotel accommodation.
Traghetto
Giorno 2 — Kangaroo Island → Adelaide
Breakfast. Today your local guide will introduce you to some of the main attractions of the island. The first stop will be the fascinating raptor presentation at Raptor Domain, an educational, interactive, and stimulating experience. The only free-flight raptor display in South Australia is considered by many to be the most interactive raptor presentation in all of Australia. Next, head to Emu Ridge Eucalyptus Distillery for a delicious lunch, followed by an introductory talk on the history of the oil distillery and a guided tour. You can choose to taste the range of Kangaroo Island Ciders from Colony Cove, including Apple Sparkler and Cider (additional cost). Finally, you can visit their souvenir shop, where you will find a range of eucalyptus-based products. The next stop is Clifford's Honey Farm, where you can take an informative guided tour of the honey room, learn about the extraction process, taste a non-alcoholic honey drink, and have the opportunity to taste the Honey Wheat Ale from the Drunken Drone brewery. In the shop at the entrance of the farm, you can see a functioning beehive where you can try to spot the queen bee. You can purchase various varieties of pure Kangaroo Island ligurian honey and beauty products, as well as the famous honey ice cream. Continue to Pennington Bay, a spectacular beach on the southern coast of Kangaroo Island, where you can take a photo before reaching your final stop, False Cape Wines Cellar Door. This new and extraordinary cellar door is made from recycled wood, jetty beams, and limestone from the property. Here you can participate in a structured wine tasting, enjoying the tranquil view of the surrounding vineyards. The tour ends at the Penneshaw Hotel where you will have plenty of time to have dinner (at your own expense) before returning to the Penneshaw Ferry Terminal. Return to Adelaide by ferry + public bus without a guide. I will arrive around 23:00. I arrive and transfer freely to the hotel.
