Giorno 3 — Vancouver → Tsawwassen → Swartz Bay → Victoria
Leaving the vibrant city of Vancouver behind, your journey heads south through a varied landscape of urban areas, river deltas, and coastal scenery. Following the Fraser River estuary, you pass wetlands, bird sanctuaries, and fertile farmland that create a surprisingly natural setting close to the city. You will then arrive in Tsawwassen, where beautiful views across the Strait of Georgia and the Gulf Islands create a memorable arrival before continuing by ferry to Vancouver Island. After arriving on Vancouver Island by ferry, your journey takes you through the scenic landscapes of the Saanich Peninsula. Rolling hills, coastal scenery, and beautifully maintained gardens accompany the drive towards Victoria. A highly recommended stop is the renowned Butchart Gardens, one of Canada’s most spectacular garden attractions, featuring colourful floral displays and themed gardens. Further south, the charming seaside town of Sidney invites you to enjoy a stroll along the waterfront and browse its local shops. As you approach Victoria, the surroundings gradually become more urban while retaining a relaxed atmosphere. You will then arrive in Victoria, the capital of British Columbia, famous for its historic architecture, picturesque Inner Harbour, and distinct British charm. Victoria, capital of British Columbia, lies at the southern tip of Vancouver Island, facing the ocean and famous for its British-flavoured charm. The city preserves an elegant and refined atmosphere, with historic buildings such as the provincial Parliament and the iconic Fairmont Empress Hotel, overlooking the picturesque Inner Harbour. Its flowering gardens, particularly the famous Butchart Gardens, are among the most beautiful in the world and earn the city the nickname "city of gardens". The downtown streets invite strolls among shops, tearooms serving afternoon tea, and cafés facing the harbour. From Victoria, excursions set off for whale watching and discovering the island's nature. Mild and welcoming year-round, Victoria combines colonial elegance, lush gardens and marine beauty, one of the most charming cities in western Canada.
