Itinerary
Giorno 1 — Sao Luis
Arrival at Sao Luis. Welcome upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. Capital of the state of Maranhão, São Luís is a city rich in traditions and culture. Founded in 1612, it is home to beautiful palaces and stately houses, as well as historic city squares. Listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, much of its 18th- and 19th-century colonial architecture has been restored. Today, the city hosts cultural centers, museums, shops, and restaurants. Alongside its history, São Luís preserves its traditions. Folkloric events and the architecture of churches built during the time of slavery bear witness to the vitality and strength of its living cultural heritage. São Luís is also a modern city, with a newer area featuring buildings, shopping centers, and upscale restaurants. The best beaches are found in this part of the city, such as Calhau, Olho d’Água, and Araçagi. Dinner free. Overnight in Sao Luis.

Giorno 3 — Sao Luis → Barreirinhas
Breakfast. Early in the morning departure for Barreirinhas. Duration 4 hours approximately. Arrive at Barreirinhas. Hotel accommodation. Free lunch. In the afternoon we will leave Barreirinhas aboard a 4x4 vehicle (Jardineira) which will take us to the point where we will cross by ferry into the Lençóis Maranhenses National Park (PARNA), which covers approximately 155 thousand hectares. The journey takes 45 minutes on average. At the foot of the hills, we will get out of the vehicle and begin a walk of approximately 15 minutes to the Lagoa BONITA, where we can enjoy a pleasant swim. Free time to sunbathe and swim in the lake. Return to the hotel. Dinner free. Overnight in Barreirinhas.
Giorno 4 — Barreirinhas
Breakfast. Transfer from the hotel to the riverbank and boarding for the cruise along the Preguiças River towards the Caburé Peninsula, located between the Preguiças River and the Atlantic Ocean. Before arriving there, we will pass through vegetation made up of palms and mangroves along its banks. Our first stop is at Vassouras (Pequenos Lençóis). Here we will have the opportunity to taste the local coconut water and to see the capuchin monkeys that inhabit the mangrove area next to the beach. We will continue along the river to the village of Mandacaru, where the Preguiças lighthouse stands. We will climb the lighthouse, from where you can enjoy a privileged view of the region. From there we will see the dunes, the river, its mouth, the ocean and the typical vegetation. After the visit to the lighthouse, the boat will continue on to Caburé beach, where we will stop for lunch (not included). The restaurants serve excellent fish dishes. After a little rest in the hammocks, we can stroll along the beach or along the Preguiças River. Lunch and dinner free. Return to Barreirinhas. Overnight in Barreirinhas.
