Itinerary
Giorno 1 — Buenos Aires
Welcome upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. Founded in 1536 by the Spaniard Pedro de Mendoza, for a century and a half Buenos Aires was cut off from the main routes of South America, only gaining importance in the 18th century. As the capital of the Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata, Buenos Aires saw a large influx of European immigrants in the 19th and 20th centuries. With its wide tree-lined avenues, impressive buildings, and cosmopolitan atmosphere, Buenos Aires is considered one of the most beautiful cities in South America. The Argentine capital has a more European than South American atmosphere and is characterized by lively streets, luxurious boulevards, old-style cafes, and classy restaurants. Buenos Aires is rich in history, culture, and must-see attractions, starting with its colorful neighborhoods and the historic city center, which is the nerve center of the city's relationship with politics. In the afternoon we will take a panoramic tour of the city. We will begin with Plaza de Mayo and then continue towards the La Boca district, ending in Palermo and Recoleta, where its famous cemetery is located. Dinner with a show to enjoy the magnetism of Tango. Accommodation Huinid Obelisco Hotel.
Giorno 3 — Buenos Aires → Trelew (Penisola Valdes) → Puerto Madryn (Penisola Valdes)
Breakfast. Airport transfer. Flight to Trelew (not included). I arrive and transfer to the hotel. Arrival at Puerto Madryn (Penisola Valdes). Puerto Madryn is a seaside town with a population of 60,000, located in the Golfo Nuevo. The city is relatively new and doesn't have a particular charm, but it is a necessary stop to reach the Punta Tombo penguin reserve, located 170 km further south, or the famous Valdés Peninsula to the east. This territory, a 360,000-hectare animal paradise, is part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. Since the main attraction of the region is the presence of animal colonies, it is important to gather information about the wildlife calendar before visiting. Afternoon available. Accommodation Bahia Nueva.
Giorno 4 — Puerto Madryn (Penisola Valdes)
Breakfast. Visit to the Valdes Peninsula, declared a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site thanks to its geography, flora and fauna, features that make it a natural paradise. We begin with the Estancia de San Lorenzo for a trek in the penguin colony, where at the height of the breeding season more than 60,000 Magellanic penguins live. After lunch you will visit Punta Norte, the site with the greatest likelihood of coastal sightings of orcas and elephant seals, and Puerto Pirámides, where you can go whale watching from September to early December (not included). Lunch during the visit. Return to the hotel. Accommodation Bahia Nueva.
Volo
Giorno 5 — Puerto Madryn (Penisola Valdes) → Trelew (Penisola Valdes) → Ushuaia
Breakfast. Airport transfer. Flight to Ushuaia (not included). Welcome upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. Ushuaia, the capital of the Argentine province of Tierra del Fuego, Antarctica, and South Atlantic Islands, is the southernmost city in the world. It overlooks the Beagle Channel and is surrounded by mountains, glaciers, and forests, offering a unique landscape. The word Ushuaia comes from the Yaghan language, the ancient indigenous people of the area, with the terms ush (bottom) and waia (bay), and has been translated as "Bay at the End of the World.". Accommodation Altos Ushuaia.
Giorno 6 — Ushuaia
Breakfast. Departure from the city towards Tierra del Fuego National Park to discover Ensenada Bay, Lapataia Bay, the final point of National Route no. 3, and Lake Acigami (formerly Lake Roca), which is notable for the colour of its waters, varying according to the weather conditions. Ticket for the End of the World train during the visit to the national park included. In the afternoon, cruise along the Beagle Channel to admire Sea Lion Island, the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse and Ushuaia Bay from the water. Return to the hotel. Accommodation Altos Ushuaia.
Volo
Giorno 7 — Ushuaia → El Calafate
Breakfast. Airport transfer. Flight to El Calafate (not included). Welcome upon arrival and transfer to the hotel. El Calafate is one of the main tourist destinations in Patagonia: located south of Lake Argentino, it is a privileged gateway for those who intend to visit the Los Glaciares National Park, the second largest in Argentina and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1981. The origins of El Calafate date back to the beginning of the last century when the city was built as a meeting point for timber traders. A great boost to its development, not only in terms of tourism, came in 1937 with the creation of the Perito Moreno National Park. From the town, you can reach the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the most visited and photographed in the world, as well as Cerro Chaltén and Cerro Torre, perfect peaks for trekking enthusiasts or mountaineering lovers. Accommodation Kalenshen Hotel Cerro Calafate.
Giorno 8 — El Calafate
Breakfast. Visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier, within Los Glaciares National Park and declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The glacier is an impressive river of ice with a surface area of 257 square kilometres and a front wall whose height varies between 50 and 60 metres above the level of the lake. During the excursion, a walk along the boardwalks in front of the glacier will allow you to admire this wonder of nature from different vantage points. Nautical Safari during the excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier included. Return to the hotel. Accommodation Kalenshen Hotel Cerro Calafate.
Giorno 9 — El Calafate
