Giorno 2 — Yogyakarta → Prambanan → Borobudur → Yogyakarta
Breakfast. Departure at 08:00 for a morning city tour of Yogyakarta, visiting the Sultan’s Palace, also known as the “Keraton” (closed on Mondays). Built in traditional Javanese architectural style, the palace houses a rich cultural heritage that reflects the history of the region. The tour continues with a visit to the Water Castle, which once served as a leisure retreat for the royal family. This visit includes a short ride on a traditional pedal-powered tricycle known as a “Becak”. We then visit the home of a local artisan, a true master craftsman who creates handmade traditional Javanese masks used in local performances. Together with the artisan, we will discover the secrets of this centuries-old art. We continue with a walking tour of the Kota Gede neighbourhood, strolling among local houses and enjoying the opportunity to interact with the residents. Lunch at a local restaurant. In the afternoon, we visit Prambanan. Built in the 10th century, it is the largest Hindu temple complex in Indonesia. It consists of three main temples dedicated to the three major Hindu deities — Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma — and adorned with reliefs depicting scenes from the Ramayana epic. Return to the hotel and overnight stay in Yogyakarta. Dinner free.
Giorno 3 — Yogyakarta
Breakfast. At 08:00, depart for an excursion to the Buddhist Temple of Borobudur** (closed on Mondays). The massive stone stupa of Borobudur is one of the greatest ancient architectural monuments associated with the Mahayana Buddhist tradition. Built between 750 and 850 AD, Borobudur predates Cambodia’s Angkor Wat by three centuries. Buried beneath volcanic ash and tropical vegetation, it was rediscovered only in 1815. More recently, it was fully restored through an international effort under the auspices of UNESCO. Borobudur is truly a mandala, a map of the cosmic universe and the human mind: a place of integration, unity and connection. According to Buddhist philosophy, as we embark on a spiritual pilgrimage towards the summit, we symbolically move closer to the precious state of “Nirvana”. The excursion also includes visits to the smaller temples of Pawon and Mendut. Lunch at a local restaurant along the way. Return to the hotel and overnight stay in Yogyakarta. **Access to the upper levels of Borobudur Temple, including the summit, is included, subject to limited availability and may be denied at any time without prior notice or refund**. I will return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner free.

Giorno 4 — Yogyakarta → Bali Beaches → Ubud
Breakfast. Airport transfer. Flight to Bali. Welcome upon arrival and transfer to Ubud (1 ora e 30 min. circa). The rest of the day available. Dinner free.
Giorno 5 — Ubud
Breakfast. After lunch (not included), the first stop of the afternoon is the Ubud Monkey Forest, a renowned nature reserve surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. The forest is home to more than 340 long-tailed macaques, which roam freely along the paths, offering visitors a unique opportunity to experience Bali’s local wildlife. ** From 01/04/2027, the visit to the Ubud Monkey Forest will be replaced by a visit to Sangeh Monkey Forest (departure from the hotel at 11:00, lunch not included). ** The day continues with a visit to Taman Ayun Temple, which once belonged to the royal family of Mengwi. Built in 1600, it is one of the finest examples of traditional Balinese architecture, surrounded by a wide moat and still used today for important religious ceremonies. The tour then continues along Bali’s south-western coast to the impressive Tanah Lot Temple, one of the island’s most iconic landmarks. Dedicated to the sea deities, the temple stands on a rocky outcrop surrounded by the Indian Ocean and, at high tide, appears as an islet embraced by the waves. The visit is particularly spectacular at sunset
Return to the hotel in the evening. Dinner free.
Giorno 6 — Ubud
Breakfast. Departure at 08:00 from the hotel for a full-day tour to Bali’s northern coast. First visit is the Ulun Danu Temple in Bedugul, located on Lake Bratan. The image of the temple on the lake is one of the most photographed scenes in Bali. We then continue to admire the Gitgit Waterfall, located north of Bedugul, reached via a short walk through lush tropical forest. Lunch at a local restaurant. The journey continues north with a visit to the Brahma Vihara Dharma Buddhist temple. Afterwards we will enjoy a short walk through this still pristine region, featuring stunning landscapes and rice terraces. Return to the hotel in the late afternoon. Dinner free.
Giorno 7 — Ubud
Breakfast. Departure at 08:00. After approximately 30 minutes, arrival at the stunning Tegalalang rice terraces. Enjoy a pleasant 20-minute walk through a less frequented area, admiring the traditional irrigation system known as “Subak.” Continue north to the village of Kintamani, where you will enjoy a spectacular view of Mount Batur and the lake below, at an altitude of 1,100 meters. Lunch at a local restaurant with panoramic views. In the afternoon, proceed to the Mother Temple of Besakih, located at about 1,000 meters above sea level on the slopes of Bali’s largest and most active volcano, Mount Agung (3,142 meters), considered by the Balinese to be the “navel of the world.” On the way back to Ubud, visit the ancient justice court of Kerta Gosa in Klungkung, whose distinctive painted ceiling depicts the punishments inflicted on convicted criminals. Return to the hotel in Ubud. Dinner free.
