Giorno 2 — Città del Capo → Penisola del Capo → Città del Capo

Breakfast. Departure for Cape Peninsula. Cape Town is located on a spectacular mountainous peninsula that juts out into the ocean. From the city, you follow the Atlantic coastline along the beaches and through upscale residential suburbs such as Clifton Beach and Camps Bay. In Hout Bay, you board a cruise for a close-up visit to Seal Island, home to hundreds of Cape fur seals and cormorants. Next, you travel along Chapman’s Peak Drive, with its 114 curves over 9 km, considered one of the most scenic coastal roads in the world (subject to closure in adverse weather). The route leads to Cape Point, the famous Cape of Good Hope, the southernmost tip of the peninsula where the Atlantic and Indian Oceans meet. The first landmass directly south of the Cape is Antarctica. You can take the funicular to reach the top. The journey continues to Simon’s Town for lunch, followed by a visit to nearby Boulders Beach to see the rare and endangered African penguins. Return to the hotel around 17.30 circa. Dinner at a restaurant. Accommodation City Lodge V&A Waterfront.

Giorno 3 — Città del Capo

Breakfast. Free day. Free lunch. Cape Town is one of the world’s most scenic cities, set between the Atlantic Ocean and the iconic Table Mountain, a landmark symbol of South Africa. Cosmopolitan and vibrant, it blends nature, history, and culture with spectacular beaches, creative districts, markets, vineyards, and dramatic coastal scenery. The City Bowl is the historic and urban heart of the city, home to Company’s Garden, Greenmarket Square, and Long Street, known for its cafés, nightlife, and bohemian atmosphere, while the colorful Bo-Kaap reflects Cape Malay heritage. The Atlantic Seaboard, also known as “The Riviera”, including Sea Point, Camps Bay, Clifton, and Hout Bay, is one of the city’s most famous coastal stretches, renowned for scenic beaches, seaside promenades, lively venues, and Atlantic sunsets. The V&A Waterfront is Cape Town’s main tourist hub, offering restaurants, shopping, museums, and the departure point for ferries to Robben Island. In the outskirts, the Cape Peninsula leads to Cape Point and the Cape of Good Hope, passing through Simon’s Town and Boulders Beach, home to a famous penguin colony. Further afield lie the Cape Winelands of Stellenbosch, Franschhoek, and Paarl, renowned for vineyards and historic estates. Dinner free. Accommodation City Lodge V&A Waterfront.

Auto

Giorno 4 — Città del Capo → Johannesburg → Pretoria → Panorama Route & Highlands

Breakfast. Airport transfer. Flight to Johannesburg. Welcome upon arrival and meeting with the guide. Stop at Pretoria. At an altitude of 1335 meters, Pretoria, renamed Tshwane, is the administrative capital of South Africa, a city with solid Boer origins and a tumultuous history, with elegant government buildings, gardens, and wide avenues lined with jacaranda trees, a tropical tree with mauve-colored flowers. In addition to hosting a large diplomatic community, Pretoria is inhabited by a middle class of citizens who are no longer of European Afrikaner descent, but of Pedi and Tswana ethnicity, employed in the state administration or enrolled as students in the numerous local universities. Lunch along the way. I will arrive at the hotel in the afternoon. Dinner at the hotel. Accommodation Umbhaba Eco Lodge.

Auto

Giorno 5 — Panorama Route & Highlands → Karongwe Private Game Reserve

Breakfast. Departure for la visita della Panorama Route. The Panorama Route itinerary winds from the rugged Drakensberg mountain range to Kruger National Park, passing through sites such as God's Window, Bourke's Luck Potholes, the Three Rondavels, the Mac Mac Falls, and the Blyde River Canyon: a succession of mountain streams, rolling hills, spectacular waterfalls, and imposing mountain gorges. The towns of Lydenberg and White River are located at the beginning of the Panorama Route. Other small towns include Sabie, Graskop, Orighstad, Hoedspruit, and Hazyview. The most famous is Pilgrim's Rest, a kind of living museum dedicated to the gold rush era. Blyde River Canyon is one of the largest in the world, stretching 20 km long and reaching depths of up to 700 m: God's Window is its most spectacular viewpoint. Other notable sites include Bourke's Luck Potholes, giant potholes carved over millions of years by the rotating movement of water; the Three Rondavels, rocky mesas with a shape reminiscent of African conical roof constructions; and the summit of Long Tom Pass, the mountain pass named after the cannon used by the Boers during the Anglo-Boer War. Along the way, you can stop at small art galleries and local craft shops. The Panorama Route also offers a wide choice of places to stop for a meal or a snack. I arrive at the lodge for lunch. Time available for relaxation before the afternoon photo safari. Return to the lodge. Dinner. Accommodation Chisomo Safari Camp.

Giorno 6 — Karongwe Private Game Reserve

Full board at the lodge. Day dedicated to safaris in the Reserve, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Located a short distance from Kruger National Park, Karongwe Game Reserve is a private reserve in a prime location between four rivers, providing an exceptional habitat for animals and flora. It is particularly known for leopard sightings, but also offers opportunities to spot the other Big Five (lion, elephant, black rhino, buffalo). Accommodations are available in four lodges: Kuname, Shiduli, Karongwe River Lodge, and Chisomo, all situated on the banks of the Makhutswi River. Accommodation Chisomo Safari Camp.
